Waridi Schrobsdorff

Waridi is a former top model who now is committed to making a difference through her company, I-Magine, a company dedicated to imagining, and fulfilling the impossible. the company is dedicated to promoting awareness of HIV/AIDS among children and teenagers in Germany, and supporting developing projects in Kenya to help AIDS/HIV infected people become self-sufficient.

Waridi worked for UNICEF, and a charity project called “Afrikaherz” in Berlin before founding her company, so philanthropy is a big part of her mission. She recently hosted the Festival for African Fashion and Arts (FAFA) and it was well attended by Paris based designers Alphadi of Niger, Imane Ayissi of Cameroun and Paul Herve Elizabeth of Martinique, as well as Pathe’O of Ivory Coast, Tribe of Ghana, Modela Couture of Nigeria, and Espace Fagueye of Senegal. Local Kenyan design talent included Moo Cow, KooRoo, Sally Karago, John Kaveke, and KikoRomeo.

Antoinette Ataro is a good friend of Ajuma and has been featured in Kenya’s Cosmopolitan magazine (2004) and Singapore’s Elle Magazine (2005). She has also been on Glamour Magazine’s cover page. A very versatile and photogenic model, she is sure to rack up more photo shoots through the years.

Maryann - Denmark Model

Maryann is a model in Denmark who has been featured in several magazines and has done some runway work. She now works with several designers in Germany and participates in advertising campaigns for well-known fashion companies such as Prada. She appears in dance video-clips, on TV channels like Viva and MTV/Pop. She participates in many beauty pageants such as Miss Gridgirl contest 2004 on German RTL, and Miss African Beauty Queen 2005.

Ajuma Nasenyana, London, United Kingdom

Ajuma Nasenyana

Born to a mother who the first woman of her generation in the Turkana area to receive an education (she then went on to open and run the Women’s Centre in Lodwar), Ajuma could not help but be destined for great things. She won the 2002 World Junior Championship National Trials and was third in the World Championship National trials in Track. Ford Models took her under their wing and she went on to win the prestigous Ford Supermodels competition.

She was a judge in the Ford SuperModels, East Africa competition in October 2005. She is now with Models 1, a world-reknowned agency, and is doing well. Her credits include being the winner of the Best Model of Spanish Week; she has done 6 shows for graduate fashion week; modeled for a L’Oreal show; and done a MAC cosmetics presentation.  She is good friends with another Kenyan model, Antoinette Ataro.
