The Huffington Post has named Lupita Nyong’o a breakout artist for her role in ‘12 Years A Slave‘.
Mentioning her in the same line as Edward Norton, Natalie Portman, Marlee Matlin and Orson Welles, they note that she has been pegged to be the only woman who can prevent Oprah Winfrey from getting her first Oscar. You can read the entire interview on the Huffington Post.
It has been a long but fulfilling road for Lupita, an actress we remember from MTV’s ‘Shuga‘ where she played Ayira, a young, ambitious girl who is willing to do almost anything to get ahead. She went on to act in Season II of ‘Shuga’.
Lupita’s stage credits include playing ‘Perdita‘ in ‘The Winter’s Tale‘, (Yale Repertory Theater), ‘Sonya’ in ‘Uncle Vanya‘, ‘Katherine’ in ‘The Taming of the Shrew‘, as well as being in the original production of Michael Mitnick’s ‘Elijah‘. You can keep up with her by following her on Twitter, or her Facebook fan page.
