Lupita Nyong’o is slated to be in a film with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore (coincidentally, when ranked on the IMDB starmeter, Lupita ranks above Julianne Moore, as of this writing) called Non-Stop. The film will be in theaters in February and is an action-packed film (what else could it be with Liam Neeson as the Federal Marshall) that keeps us guessing to the end. You can read more about the film here.
Owiso Odera is still going strong and stars in 3 episodes of the very popular television series, ‘The Originals’. He plays Papa Tunde, a formidable enemy to the Original family. It is heartening to see Kenyans shine so bright on the big and little screen in Hollywood. Read more about his role here.
Speaking of shining, let’s not forget Edi Gathegi from the wildly popular ‘Twilight‘ movie saga. His acting brought him to the attention of the directors who felt that he was the perfect person to play Laurent. That’s what talent does. Read all about it here.
Kenya is extremely well represented in terms of talent in Hollywood. Hoping this will inspire many more Kenyans to go shine and represent us in the creative fields, in front and behind the camera.
Shout out to the artists who create the backgrounds like Yvonne Muinde, or do the filming like Stan Barua. Some direct, like Gurinder Chadha. Note: In their fields, they are all the ones to call if you want an expert. Proud of our Kenyan Jewels who continue to shine a positive light on Kenya through their professionalism and dedication.
